I have been going to Family Focus Eye Care for over 20 years.  When Dr. Taylor took over the practice, the transition was seamless.  I appreciate the upgrades he has made and the care he takes when I visit.  Besides that, he’s funny.  But my very favorite is Ms. Barbara.  She is friendly and generous and extremely good at her job.  I never have to worry about what insurance will cover because she has it all figured out.  I also never have to worry about choosing the right frames because she is quite good at knowing what fits me – physically, style-wise, and personality-wise.  Barbara is absolutely the best!! What a great office! What a great team! Doctor T sets the tone of cheerful, helpful, caring, competent, and his staff joins in. I have never before had so much fun getting an eye exam and new glasses.  – Marjorie

I’ve never enjoyed or looked forward to getting my eyes checked, until now!! Most friendly and welcoming environment and staff. They’re all so caring & fun! – Hannah

I was a patient of Family Focus for many years before Dr. Taylor assumed the practice. I have to say I am even more happy since the transition. He and his staff are more than wonderful. Dr. Taylor has always taken the time necessary to explain my eye diagnoses to me in a way that I fully understand. He has the latest in technology which makes things much faster and much more accurate. I had an emergency this last Friday and they got me in same day. I didn’t think it was that big of a deal and almost cancelled but they encourage me to keep the appointment especially before going into the weekend if for nothing else than to make sure I was ok. It was a good thing I did. I had a large abrasion on my eye and something was actually embedded that had to be removed. I was nervous and Dr Taylor was not only wonderfully calming but very confident. I didn’t feel a thing and he also came in on Sunday to follow-up with me to make sure my healing was on track! People, you really don’t need to look any further…just save yourself some search engine work on your computer and just go to Family Focus. Dr Taylor and his staff are phenomenal! If there were more than 5 starts to give, I would! – Laura

I have been a patient for a couple of years and would definitely recommend Family Focus to anyone looking for an eye care physician. They have the latest technology which makes the appointments quick and accurate. I love not having to have my eyes dilated! Dr. Taylor and the staff are all friendly and helpful. I have been seen on time for all of my appointments. – Megan

Dry Eye

Blinking too much while using the computer? Having difficulty working near a fan or heating unit? You might have Dry Eye Syndrome. The most common misconception with dry eyes is that your eyes feel dry when you have the syndrome. Dry eyes comes with many symptoms; stinging, gritty, itching, excessive tearing, eye strain, and general redness. Contacts

65% of teens said wearing contacts helps them perform better in sports. 89% of teens said they find it easy to clean and care for contact lens. We find that responsible young teenagers make great candidates for contact lens. We take our time in explaining the importance of contact lens care and demonstrate the removal and insertion of the lens. Contacts are also great for those with 40 or more birthday candles to help out with near and intermediate distances. With new multifocal contact lens you can put your 6 pair of glasses to the side and experience the freedom these contacts have to offer.

Glaucoma

In the United States 10% of blindness is caused by glaucoma, which translates to two million Americans affected by glaucoma. Perhaps even more alarming is that more than 50% of those affected are unaware of their condition. One of the major causes of this under diagnosed condition is a lack of regular eye exams. This condition has been nick named the sneak thief of sight because once you notice symptoms you will have irreversible damage to the eye and permanent vision loss. Take a deep breath and rest assured that we have everything you need to diagnosis, treat, and monitor glaucoma. Call today for a full eye exam and we will do our part in keeping your eyes healthy.

Imaging

As the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words, optometry is no exception. With our advanced digital imaging we give you the option of skipping the dilation and allow the camera to record the far reaches of your retina. This not only offers the convenience of not being dilated, but gives detailed mapping of the eyes that enhances our ability to track any retinal changes. Our imaging doesn’t stop there; we also have photography enhanced microscopes to document the front of the eye. Infrared light is used on our Optical coherence tomography (OCT) to diagnosis and monitor retinal disease from age related macular degeneration to glaucoma. So it comes down to one question, is your eye ready for its close up?

Pediatrics

What could you possibly find out from my vibrating 2 year old? Surprising enough, even two years that can’t sit still have eyes that tell a story. We are equipped with stickers, prizes, movies, and Doctor Taylor’s tricks to help the process run smoothly. Doctor Taylor is the father of four children and understands what it takes to make a child laugh and smile. The importance of early diagnosis of eye conditions is paramount in your child’s education. The recommended ages for exams are 6 months old, 2-3 years old and 6 years old. 80% of what your child learns in school is presented visually, set your child up for success by giving them sharp and accurate vision.
